Motorola Signature 27 Launched: Price, Specs, Release Date and Features

Motorola Signature 27 is official. Motorola unveiled its new flagship on 5 November 2026, and it is the most expensive phone the company has ever priced for the US, at $1,599.99. For that money you get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, a huge 7,000mAh battery, a 200MP periscope camera and a screen that Motorola rates at up to 12,000 nits.

Motorola first teased the phone at Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit in September. Now we have the full specs, prices and sale dates.

Motorola Signature 27 Price and Availability

  • Price in the USA: $1,599.99 (12GB RAM + 512GB storage)
  • Price in Europe: €1,899 (some retailers may sell it for less)

Sales start in Europe, the Middle East and Africa on 16 November. In the US, pre-orders open on 19 November and sales begin on 26 November through Motorola, Amazon and Best Buy. India and other markets will follow "in the coming months", according to Motorola. We will update this post when Indian pricing is announced.

A Battery That Grew by 35%

The headline upgrade is the battery. The Signature 27 packs a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon cell, up from 5,200mAh in the original Signature launched in January. Motorola claims up to 77 hours of use on a charge and says 12 minutes on the charger gives you up to 12 hours of use. Charging stays at 90W wired and 50W wireless, but note that the charger is sold separately.

The surprising part is that the phone is still only 7.99mm thick. It is heavier, though, at 227g compared with 186g for the original.

Cameras: 200MP Periscope and an "Action" Sensor

On the back you get a 50MP Sony LYTIA L910 main camera, a 50MP ultrawide and a 200MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x "Super Zoom". The fourth sensor is new: an event-based vision sensor (EVS) that Motorola uses for its Action Shot feature to freeze fast motion. The front camera is 50MP.

DXOMARK gives the phone a camera score of 173, second only to the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra (175) and just ahead of the iPhone 18 Pro (172). Motorola worked closely with DXOMARK on tuning, so we will wait for our own tests before calling it the best.

Display and Performance

The 6.8-inch "Extreme AMOLED Duo" is a tandem OLED panel with two light-emitting layers, a 2772 x 1272 resolution and Dolby Vision support. The refresh rate drops from 165Hz to 120Hz, but Motorola says the panel is up to 34% more power-efficient. Inside there is up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

The phone ships with Android 17 and Motorola promises 7 years of OS and security updates. It is IP68 and IP69 rated, protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3, and has stereo speakers tuned by Bang & Olufsen.

Our Opinion

On paper, the Signature 27 fixes the original's biggest weakness, battery life, and adds one of the best camera setups of the year. The problem is the price. At $1,599.99 it costs $450 more than the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and Motorola has never sold a phone at this price in the US before. If the 7,000mAh battery and 200MP zoom live up to the claims, it could be the first Motorola flagship that truly competes with Samsung and Apple. If not, most buyers will pick the Galaxy and save the difference. We will bring you our full review once we get the device.
