Nubia has officially launched Nubia Z17 in Beijing, China. Touted as a successor to the Nubia Z11 released in 2016 with Snapdragon 820 processor, the Nubia Z17 ships with Snapdragon 835 processor. To recall, the company had launched the Nubia Z17 Mini. Even though Nubia has a low market share, the company has the presence all over the world.
Nubia Z17 features a 5.5-inch two-sided bezel-less FHD 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protected display with a pixel density of 403PPI. The handset ships with a Snapdragon 835 processor manufactured based on the 10nm FinFET process paired with Adreno 540 graphics.
Integration of UFS 2.1 storage technology
Moreover, the phone is powered by 6GB/8GB RAM alongside 64GB and 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage respectively. You should note that the Nubia Z17 is the second smartphone to ship with Snapdragon 835 processor after the release of Xiaomi Mi 6 recently.
First phone to ship with Quick Charge 4.0
With Nubia Z17, you will be able to get two days of backup time with the help of 3200mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging technology. It is possible to charge the handset from 0 to 50 percent within 25 minutes. The phone also comes with NeoPower 3.0 optimized features along with Dolby Atmos certified speaker for Hi-Fi audio output. Based on the latest trends, the Nubia Z17 has eliminated the use of a traditional headphone port.
Powerful dual rear camera
On the optics front, the Nubia Z17 is equipped with a dual camera sensor comprising of 23MP and 12MP 6P lens sensor, dual pixel focus coupled with f/1.8 aperture. The phone offers 2X optical zoom. You will be able to capture bright selfies using the included 16MP front-facing snapper with 80-degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture.
Addition of FitCard feature
Loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat based on Nubia UI 5.0, the Nubia Z17 is powered by NeoSmart Artificial Intelligence. You can swipe on the edges of the device using the latest Frame Interactive Technology (FiT) 3. Nubia has integrated FitCard, which is identical to that of the Shelf on the OnePlus handsets and can be accessed by swiping from left to right. You will also find 3D touch shortcuts in addition to split screen multitasking capabilities.
The IR blaster helps you to control your home appliances such as TV. The handset is equipped with three navigation buttons on the bottom of the front side below the display and the fingerprint scanner on the rear. In addition to 4G LTE, the Nubia Z17 also provides support for Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth and the USB Type-C port. The phone is also compatible with AliPay and WeChat services with support for the water-resistant technology.
With a weight of 173 grams, the Nubia Z17 smartphone is available in Black Gold, Soft Gold, Black, Blue and Red color variants. The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage are priced at 3999 Yuan. You can buy 6GB RAM and 64GB storage at 2799 Yuan. If you would like to buy 128GB storage variant, you need to pay 3399 Yuan.
You can pre-order Nubia Z17 and the open sales will start from July 6. We don’t have any information about the availability of the smartphone in other regional markets. The specifications are equal to that of the premium handsets. The inclusion of Snapdragon 835 processor is a real deal breaker considering that it generates less heat due to the unique manufacturing process.
