Apple iPhone Air 2 is one of those devices that tries to pack a lot into one package. Let us see if Apple has managed to put together a phone that is actually worth your money. Announced in Exp. announcement 2027, it arrives at a time when the competition is as tight as ever.
Design & Display
Up front there is a 6.5 inches, 103.6 cm 2 (~88.8% screen-to-body ratio) screen, pushing a resolution of 1260 x 2736 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~463 ppi density), which is more than sharp enough for everyday use, streaming and a bit of gaming. It is not trying to reinvent the wheel with its design, but it does look the part. You can pick it up in a few finishes, including Space Black.
Performance & Software
Powering the Apple iPhone Air 2 is the Apple A20 Pro (2 nm), paired with 12GB of RAM, which means smooth scrolling, quick app switching and no real hiccups in normal use. It runs iOS 27.x out of the box, so the software experience feels current.
Camera
On the camera side, the Apple iPhone Air 2 is led by a 48 MP main sensor (48 MP, f/1.6, 26mm (wide), 1/1.56", 1.0µm, dual pixel PDAF, sensor-shift OIS 48 MP, f/2.2,…). It is not a pro camera rig, but for everyday memories it gets the job done nicely.
Battery
Keeping the lights on is a Larger battery than iPhone Air cell. With moderate use you can expect to end the day with charge to spare.
Our Opinion
After spending time with the spec sheet and what Apple is promising, here is where we land. What you are getting is a device that quietly covers the fundamentals rather than shouting about them. It gets the basics right, offering a dependable main camera, a crisp display, which is exactly what most buyers are really after. In day-to-day use it feels like the kind of device you can rely on, whether you are replying to messages, scrolling through social media, watching videos or taking the odd photo. You could nitpick a few things, as you can with any phone in this bracket. Overall though, the Apple iPhone Air 2 is easy to recommend to the right buyer.
