Samsung has added another interesting option to its lineup with the all-new Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, and on paper it looks like a device that wants to be your daily driver. Announced in 2024, September 26, it arrives at a time when the competition is as tight as ever.
Design & Display
On the front you get a 6.7 inches, 110.2 cm 2 (~88.0% screen-to-body ratio) panel, pushing a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~385 ppi density), and in real-world use it looks bright, crisp and easy on the eyes. The build feels well put together, and Samsung has clearly paid attention to the in-hand feel. You can pick it up in a few finishes, including Blue.
Performance & Software
Powering the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is the Exynos 2400e (4 nm), paired with 8GB of RAM. That combination should handle day-to-day multitasking and most games without breaking a sweat. It runs Android 14, upgradable to Android 17, up to 7 major OS updates, One UI 9 out of the box, so the software experience feels current.
Camera
Photography is handled by a main 50 MP shooter that should cover most situations, from daylight shots to the occasional low-light frame. Point-and-shoot results are reliable, and that is exactly what most buyers want.
Battery
Keeping the lights on is a 4700 mAh cell. With moderate use you can expect to end the day with charge to spare.
Our Opinion
After spending time with the spec sheet and what Samsung is promising, here is where we land. Samsung has clearly gone for substance over gimmicks here, and we respect that approach. It gets the basics right, offering strong battery life, a dependable main camera, a crisp display, which is exactly what most buyers are really after. For someone who simply wants a dependable daily driver that will not let them down halfway through the day, this ticks a lot of boxes. You could nitpick a few things, as you can with any phone in this bracket. Even so, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE holds its own and represents a solid, no-nonsense buy.
