With the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, Samsung is clearly aiming at buyers who want a well-rounded phone without too many compromises. Here is our take on what it brings to the table. Announced in 2026, September 30, it arrives at a time when the competition is as tight as ever.
Design & Display
Up front there is a 14.6 inches, 617.8 cm 2 (~90.8% screen-to-body ratio) screen, pushing a resolution of 1848 x 2960 pixels, 16:10 ratio (~239 ppi density), and in real-world use it looks bright, crisp and easy on the eyes. The build feels well put together, and Samsung has clearly paid attention to the in-hand feel. You can pick it up in a few finishes, including Gray.
Performance & Software
Powering the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 (3 nm), paired with 12GB of RAM. That combination should handle day-to-day multitasking and most games without breaking a sweat. It runs Android 17, up to 7 major OS updates, One UI 9 out of the box, so the software experience feels current.
Camera
The camera setup is one of the talking points here, with a 13 MP sensor doing the heavy lifting. Expect solid detail in good light, with the usual softness creeping in once the sun goes down.
Battery
Battery duties are handled by a Li-Po 11600 mAh unit, and that is a healthy number that keeps range anxiety at bay.
Our Opinion
Coming to the important bit, our opinion on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. What you are getting is a device that quietly covers the fundamentals rather than shouting about them. It gets the basics right, offering strong battery life, a dependable main camera, a crisp display, which is exactly what most buyers are really after. In day-to-day use it feels like the kind of device you can rely on, whether you are replying to messages, scrolling through social media, watching videos or taking the odd photo. There are rivals that beat it in one area or another, as is always the case in this segment. Overall though, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is easy to recommend to the right buyer.
