Phone Opinions Review

With the Xiaomi Poco X8 Power, Xiaomi is clearly aiming at buyers who want a well-rounded phone without too many compromises. Here is our take on what it brings to the table. Announced in 2026, September 04, it arrives at a time when the competition is as tight as ever.

Design & Display

Up front there is a 6.83 inches, 114.5 cm 2 (~89.5% screen-to-body ratio) screen, pushing a resolution of 1280 x 2772 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~447 ppi density), and in real-world use it looks bright, crisp and easy on the eyes. The build feels well put together, and Xiaomi has clearly paid attention to the in-hand feel. You can pick it up in a few finishes, including Black.

Performance & Software

At the heart of it sits the Qualcomm SM6850 Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 (4 nm), paired with 8GB of RAM. That combination should handle day-to-day multitasking and most games without breaking a sweat. It runs Android 16, up to 4 major OS updates, HyperOS 3 out of the box, so the software experience feels current.

Camera

Photography is handled by a main 50 MP shooter that should cover most situations, from daylight shots to the occasional low-light frame. It is not a pro camera rig, but for everyday memories it gets the job done nicely.

Battery

There is a Si/C Li-Ion 10000 mAh battery inside, and that is a healthy number that keeps range anxiety at bay.

Our Opinion

Coming to the important bit, our opinion on the Xiaomi Poco X8 Power. This is a phone that does not try to be the flashiest option on the shelf, and honestly that works in its favour. It gets the basics right, offering strong battery life, a dependable main camera, a crisp display, which is exactly what most buyers are really after. In day-to-day use it feels like the kind of device you can rely on, whether you are replying to messages, scrolling through social media, watching videos or taking the odd photo. You could nitpick a few things, as you can with any phone in this bracket. Even so, the Xiaomi Poco X8 Power holds its own and represents a solid, no-nonsense buy.
