Xiaomi has been running its operations in China followed by India for several years now and they have been very successful as well. Also, the company has revealed their plans for venturing outside of China and India into other international markets as well.
We recently saw Xiaomi announce that they have now entered the European markets officially. This is because Xiaomi opened their stores in Spain where the company is already seeing tremendous growth. Also, we know that the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite from Xiaomi will be unveiled in Spain by the company globally on June 24.
Now, Xiaomi has announced that they are starting operations in Bangladesh, India’s neighboring country. We can already make a guess that there will be many users of Xiaomi in Bangladesh until now unofficially as well due to the closeness in borders between India and Bangladesh.
However, Xiaomi fans will now be able to buy Xiaomi phones much easier and officially as well. This announcement was made by the VP and MD of Xiaomi India, Manu Kumar Jain. He said that the company has officially started operating in Bangladesh with the launch of Redmi S2, Redmi 5 and Redmi Note 5. It is worth noting that the Redmi Note 5 Pro has not been launched in Bangladesh yet.
Talking about the sales, the above-mentioned smartphones will be available in offline stores as well as online from Daraz Bangladesh(daraz.com.bd) and Mi Bangladesh(mi.com/bd). Regarding the pricing, Redmi S2 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB variants will be available for Tk. 14,999 ($177) and Tk. 17,999 ($212) respectively whereas the Redmi 5 will sell for Tk. 13,999 ($165).
These prices are very similar to the prices of Xiaomi smartphones in India which is a benefit for Bangladeshi customers. Now, the official sales of these smartphones are scheduled to start at 2 PM Bangladesh Time on July 26 which is just over a week away from now. There is no information regarding the Redmi Note 5 from the company as of now.
