LG G5 smartphone is already on big expectations. There is no doubt out of the Android Gadgets arena; LG is one of the most reputable and top selling brands. But, they are in the business of smartphones from the beginning days. They were once a direct competitor to Samsung. But, the rise of Huawei, Xiaomi, and many budget device manufacturers flooded the Android devices market.
LG has good track record in the past. But that is not enough to place them in the Top 5 list. It seems to change the fate of their own, LG devised and produced their best-designed model LG G5.
This premium model is designed to lead the Android Smartphones to next level. The inclusion of best metal design that fights head to head with the upcoming Samsung S7 Edge and 3 cameras in LG G5 is telling me this only, “LG Smartphones are climbing faster than ever”. But, the real story is the modular design.
What about a phone that has an interchangeable part with each part give you new feature? That is what the modules in LG G5 is giving to us. This is incredible innovation. I have followed all the expert opinions in this regards and found that all are so excited to have LG G5 Modular smartphone in their hands as well as the ideas about future of smartphones based on modules.
In the name of primary cameras, G5 got two cameras one at 8MP and one at 16MP. Moreover any other thing, LG G5 is a Power beast with Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB RAM. Read below for the detailed review.
LG G5 Review: Design and Build
For the first look, LG G5 is neat and class design. There is a flat screen in front. The rear side is made of metal unlike the old G series were used with leather and plastic materials. So, this one is complete Metal construction with less weighing elements.
On the left side volume rockers are located. They are very thin and doesn’t affect the flat design on the sides. On the top of the rear side, we have the Dual cameras with the flashlight in the middle of them. It formed a trio line in a small elevated area.
Below the trio form is the Fingerprint sensor cum Power button. This is a good idea to join the Fingerprint and Power button into one single operation and that too in the rear where our Fingers usually kept while using the phone.
The bottom is where the Modules can be detached and attached. There is a small button to unlock the attached module to remove out and to use another module.
LG G5 Review: Display
A 5.3-inch screen at 2560 X 1440pixels of screen resolution is expected one in this smartphone. I hope the 5.3 inch which stands in between the regular screen size of 5 inches and 5.5 inches, could be a performance hack plan for battery.
This display is an IPS type and not AMOLED. AMOLED screens are much brighter than IPS, but that too a negative thing for battery performance. With this tweaks to set the battery performance on top, LG kept the screen as always on.
Yes !! You heard right. An always on the screen of this phone claims that it took only 0.8% of total Battery charge.
LG G5 Review: Modules
There are two modules announced by LG for this Modular phone. Cam Plus and HiFi Plus with B&O Play module are the two modules that add extra features. To know more on what these two modules do watch the below Youtube Video of LG Mobiles.

LG G5 Review: Hardware and Software Performance
This is the category that challenging all the top smartphones out there in the industry. Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset joined with 4GB of RAM is the real power beast, and we expect this type of power core in LG G5. To add more boost while using Graphical interface, the Adreno 530 GPU is added. It has internal storage of 32GB and can be expanded using micro SD card slot up to 200GB.
This Processor power can compete with the Samsung S7, which is also using the same Snapdragon 820, (using Exynos Processor of equivalent capacity in some regions).
The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow runs under the skin of LG UX 5.0. LG UX doesn’t affect the user experience much from the stock Android. There are no complaints about this skin in the past and present. So, having the Marshmallow in the new smartphone you were buying is simply good.
So, this phone is on Top list of smartphones by performance. No need to worry about the lagging or glitches.
LG G5 Review: Camera
The two cameras in the rear, 16MP and 8MP wide angle camera and one camera in the front, 8MP Selfie shooter, make the camera experience better. The Rear’s 16MP camera and Front’s 8MP camera, both has Optical Image Stabilization and Laser Focus technology which helps to take photos of low light situation.
The wide angle camera of 8MP handles 135-degree lens view. This helps us to focus on a larger area as possible into the frame. This is the most wanted consumer feature in the smartphone arena.
So, the entire Camera experience is out of the box in LG G5. With the addition of the Cam Plus module, which also has its additional camera features.
LG G5 Review: Battery
The battery of this phone is 2800mAh. But, one of the modules, Cam plus has extra 1200mAh battery capacity. So, its total of a 4000mAh battery. This idea of keeping an option for two batteries is a consumer-oriented thinking.
The Samsung Galaxy S7, which has 3000mAh of capacity, is not a match for LG G5 with 2 battery option, if the price of the LG G5 is equal or lesser than Galaxy S7. The quick charge version 3.0 charge 83% of battery in 30 minutes. So, the 2 batteries can be filled quickly
LG G5 Review: Verdict
LG G5 is an innovative device. Not just creative for the experts but keeps the Innovative target at consumer experience. The ideology of modules and three cameras and two batteries bundled with the power-packed hardware and latest software is all saying one thing; LG G5 is best. Some Samsung lovers may deny the fact that LG comes with a new innovative product. But, the truth is truth. All experts are waiting for the change this phone going to make in the smartphone industry.
