HTC recently launched a new power bank equipped with a 10050mAh battery coupled with USB Type-C port at $65 in white and black color variants. Available for pre-order, the new HTC USB Type-C power bank provides support for QuickCharge 3.0 alongside two-way fast charging. Hence, you will be able not only to charge one smartphone but also two phones. You need not have to purchase a charging adapter from unauthorized sources to charge the phone upon failure of your original adapter.
Nowadays, we have seen the launch of several smartphones with USB Type-C charging port. Inside the product package, you will find a charging adapter. You need to make use of the charging adapter and cable provided with the handset. The smartphones manufactured by LeEco also ships with the fast charging port. However, there are reports about the failure of the charging adapter after few months of usage. If the adapter fails, you have no other way other than to purchase a new from either eBay or Amazon. Moreover, you don’t have any guarantee that the new adapter works. In this scenario, you have to find an alternative such as a power bank capable of charging via USB Type-C port.
The attraction of the HTC power bank is its ability to charge quickly including the capability to charge devices with USB Type-C port. The power bank is equipped with one USB Type-C port and regular USB Type-A port. Moreover, the bank is designed using Aluminum body. It consists of four LED lights to provide an indication regarding the balance amount of power. With a weight of 183 grams, the power bank measures 22.8mm thickness.
Even though Xiaomi, OnePlus, and other smaller companies have released power banks, they will not provide support for QuickCharge. Going forward, companies will manufacture power banks with the latest fast charging technology. Hence, you can expect a reduction in the price. Interestingly, the Mi power bank Pro provides support for two-way fast charging but not certified by Qualcomm.
As of writing this, the HTC USB Type-C power bank is available only in Taiwan with immediate availability in China. We will continue to keep track of the developments. Stay tuned with Phone Finder.
