vivo has added another interesting option to its lineup with the all-new vivo V80, and on paper it looks like a device that wants to be your daily driver.
Design & Display
On the front you get a 6.59 inches, 106.1 cm 2 (~90.7% screen-to-body ratio) panel, pushing a resolution of 1260 x 2750 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~459 ppi density), which is more than sharp enough for everyday use, streaming and a bit of gaming. The build feels well put together, and vivo has clearly paid attention to the in-hand feel. You can pick it up in a few finishes, including Sunrise Anthem.
Performance & Software
Powering the vivo V80 is the Qualcomm SM7750-AB Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 (4 nm), paired with 8GB of RAM. For the kind of tasks most of us throw at a phone, there is plenty of muscle here. It runs Android 17, OriginOS 7 out of the box, so the software experience feels current.
Camera
The camera setup is one of the talking points here, with a 50 MP sensor doing the heavy lifting. Point-and-shoot results are reliable, and that is exactly what most buyers want.
Battery
Battery duties are handled by a Si/C Li-Ion 7200 mAh unit, and that is a healthy number that keeps range anxiety at bay.
Our Opinion
So, what do we actually make of the vivo V80? What you are getting is a device that quietly covers the fundamentals rather than shouting about them. It gets the basics right, offering strong battery life, a dependable main camera, a crisp display, which is exactly what most buyers are really after. In day-to-day use it feels like the kind of device you can rely on, whether you are replying to messages, scrolling through social media, watching videos or taking the odd photo. You could nitpick a few things, as you can with any phone in this bracket. Overall though, the vivo V80 is easy to recommend to the right buyer.
