Apple has added another interesting option to its lineup with the all-new Apple Watch Series 6 Aluminum, and on paper it looks like a device that wants to be your daily driver. Announced in 2020, September 15, it arrives at a time when the competition is as tight as ever.
Design & Display
On the front you get a 1.78 inches panel, pushing a resolution of 448 x 368 pixels (~326 ppi density), and in real-world use it looks bright, crisp and easy on the eyes. The build feels well put together, and Apple has clearly paid attention to the in-hand feel. You can pick it up in a few finishes, including Silver.
Performance & Software
Under the hood you will find the Apple S6, paired with 1GB of RAM, which means smooth scrolling, quick app switching and no real hiccups in normal use. It runs watchOS 7.0, upgradable to watchOS 26.6 out of the box, so the software experience feels current.
Camera
The camera setup is one of the talking points here, with a main sensor doing the heavy lifting. Point-and-shoot results are reliable, and that is exactly what most buyers want.
Battery
Battery duties are handled by a Li-Ion 303.8 mAh unit, and that is a healthy number that keeps range anxiety at bay.
Our Opinion
Coming to the important bit, our opinion on the Apple Watch Series 6 Aluminum. This is a phone that does not try to be the flashiest option on the shelf, and honestly that works in its favour. It gets the basics right, offering a crisp display, which is exactly what most buyers are really after. If your priority is a phone that just works, day in and day out, then this one deserves a spot on your shortlist. Is it perfect? No phone is, and you will always find a sharper camera or a faster chip somewhere else for a little more money. Overall though, the Apple Watch Series 6 Aluminum is easy to recommend to the right buyer.
