The Apple Watch Edition Series 7 is Apple's latest attempt to grab your attention, and after going through the spec sheet, there is a fair bit here worth talking about. Announced in 2021, September 14, it arrives at a time when the competition is as tight as ever.
Design & Display
On the front you get a 1.9 inches panel, pushing a resolution of 484 x 396 pixels (~326 ppi density). Colours look punchy and text stays clean, so you will not have much to complain about here. The build feels well put together, and Apple has clearly paid attention to the in-hand feel. You can pick it up in a few finishes, including Space Black.
Performance & Software
Powering the Apple Watch Edition Series 7 is the Apple S7, paired with 1GB of RAM. That combination should handle day-to-day multitasking and most games without breaking a sweat. It runs watchOS 8.0, upgradable to watchOS 26.6 out of the box, so the software experience feels current.
Camera
Photography is handled by a main shooter that should cover most situations, from daylight shots to the occasional low-light frame. It is not a pro camera rig, but for everyday memories it gets the job done nicely.
Battery
Keeping the lights on is a Li-Ion 309 mAh (1.19 Wh) cell, and that is a healthy number that keeps range anxiety at bay.
Our Opinion
After spending time with the spec sheet and what Apple is promising, here is where we land. This is a phone that does not try to be the flashiest option on the shelf, and honestly that works in its favour. It gets the basics right, offering a crisp display, which is exactly what most buyers are really after. For someone who simply wants a dependable daily driver that will not let them down halfway through the day, this ticks a lot of boxes. There are rivals that beat it in one area or another, as is always the case in this segment. Even so, the Apple Watch Edition Series 7 holds its own and represents a solid, no-nonsense buy.
