Apple has added another interesting option to its lineup with the all-new Apple Watch Edition Series 6, and on paper it looks like a device that wants to be your daily driver. Announced in 2020, September 15, it arrives at a time when the competition is as tight as ever.
Design & Display
On the front you get a 1.78 inches panel, pushing a resolution of 448 x 368 pixels (~326 ppi density), which is more than sharp enough for everyday use, streaming and a bit of gaming. In terms of design, the Apple Watch Edition Series 6 keeps things modern and comfortable to hold. You can pick it up in a few finishes, including Titanium.
Performance & Software
At the heart of it sits the Apple S6, paired with 1GB of RAM, which means smooth scrolling, quick app switching and no real hiccups in normal use. It runs watchOS 7.0, upgradable to watchOS 26.6 out of the box, so the software experience feels current.
Camera
Photography is handled by a main shooter that should cover most situations, from daylight shots to the occasional low-light frame. It is not a pro camera rig, but for everyday memories it gets the job done nicely.
Battery
Battery duties are handled by a Li-Ion 303.8 mAh unit. With moderate use you can expect to end the day with charge to spare.
Our Opinion
Coming to the important bit, our opinion on the Apple Watch Edition Series 6. What you are getting is a device that quietly covers the fundamentals rather than shouting about them. It gets the basics right, offering a crisp display, which is exactly what most buyers are really after. For someone who simply wants a dependable daily driver that will not let them down halfway through the day, this ticks a lot of boxes. You could nitpick a few things, as you can with any phone in this bracket. Even so, the Apple Watch Edition Series 6 holds its own and represents a solid, no-nonsense buy.
