Apple iPhone 16e is one of those devices that tries to pack a lot into one package. Let us see if Apple has managed to put together a phone that is actually worth your money. Announced in 2025, February 19, it arrives at a time when the competition is as tight as ever.
Design & Display
On the front you get a 6.1 inches, 90.2 cm 2 (~86.0% screen-to-body ratio) panel, pushing a resolution of 1170 x 2532 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~460 ppi density). Colours look punchy and text stays clean, so you will not have much to complain about here. The build feels well put together, and Apple has clearly paid attention to the in-hand feel. You can pick it up in a few finishes, including Black.
Performance & Software
Powering the Apple iPhone 16e is the Apple A18 (3 nm), paired with 8GB of RAM, which means smooth scrolling, quick app switching and no real hiccups in normal use. It runs iOS 18.3.1, upgradable to iOS 27 out of the box, so the software experience feels current.
Camera
Photography is handled by a main 48 MP shooter that should cover most situations, from daylight shots to the occasional low-light frame. Point-and-shoot results are reliable, and that is exactly what most buyers want.
Battery
There is a Li-Ion 4005 mAh battery inside, which should comfortably see most people through a full day on a single charge.
Our Opinion
After spending time with the spec sheet and what Apple is promising, here is where we land. What you are getting is a device that quietly covers the fundamentals rather than shouting about them. It gets the basics right, offering a dependable main camera, a crisp display, which is exactly what most buyers are really after. For someone who simply wants a dependable daily driver that will not let them down halfway through the day, this ticks a lot of boxes. You could nitpick a few things, as you can with any phone in this bracket. Even so, the Apple iPhone 16e holds its own and represents a solid, no-nonsense buy.
