Apple has added another interesting option to its lineup with the all-new Apple iPhone 14 Pro, and on paper it looks like a device that wants to be your daily driver. Announced in 2022, September 07, it arrives at a time when the competition is as tight as ever.
Design & Display
The Apple iPhone 14 Pro comes with a 6.1 inches, 91.7 cm 2 (~87.0% screen-to-body ratio) display, pushing a resolution of 1179 x 2556 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~460 ppi density), and in real-world use it looks bright, crisp and easy on the eyes. In terms of design, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro keeps things modern and comfortable to hold. You can pick it up in a few finishes, including Space Black.
Performance & Software
Under the hood you will find the Apple A16 Bionic (4 nm), paired with 6GB of RAM. For the kind of tasks most of us throw at a phone, there is plenty of muscle here. It runs iOS 16, upgradable to iOS 27 out of the box, so the software experience feels current.
Camera
The camera setup is one of the talking points here, with a 48 MP sensor doing the heavy lifting. Expect solid detail in good light, with the usual softness creeping in once the sun goes down.
Battery
There is a Li-Ion 3200 mAh (12.38 Wh) battery inside, which should comfortably see most people through a full day on a single charge.
Our Opinion
After spending time with the spec sheet and what Apple is promising, here is where we land. Apple has clearly gone for substance over gimmicks here, and we respect that approach. It gets the basics right, offering a dependable main camera, a crisp display, which is exactly what most buyers are really after. In day-to-day use it feels like the kind of device you can rely on, whether you are replying to messages, scrolling through social media, watching videos or taking the odd photo. There are rivals that beat it in one area or another, as is always the case in this segment. Overall though, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro is easy to recommend to the right buyer.
