Apple has added another interesting option to its lineup with the all-new Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max, and on paper it looks like a device that wants to be your daily driver. Announced in 2021, September 14, it arrives at a time when the competition is as tight as ever.
Design & Display
On the front you get a 6.7 inches, 109.8 cm 2 (~87.4% screen-to-body ratio) panel, pushing a resolution of 1284 x 2778 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~458 ppi density), which is more than sharp enough for everyday use, streaming and a bit of gaming. It is not trying to reinvent the wheel with its design, but it does look the part. You can pick it up in a few finishes, including Graphite.
Performance & Software
Under the hood you will find the Apple A15 Bionic (5 nm), paired with 6GB of RAM. That combination should handle day-to-day multitasking and most games without breaking a sweat. It runs iOS 15, upgradable to iOS 27 out of the box, so the software experience feels current.
Camera
The camera setup is one of the talking points here, with a 12 MP sensor doing the heavy lifting. Expect solid detail in good light, with the usual softness creeping in once the sun goes down.
Battery
Battery duties are handled by a Li-Ion 4352 mAh (16.75 Wh) unit, which should comfortably see most people through a full day on a single charge.
Our Opinion
Coming to the important bit, our opinion on the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max. What you are getting is a device that quietly covers the fundamentals rather than shouting about them. It gets the basics right, offering a dependable main camera, a crisp display, which is exactly what most buyers are really after. If your priority is a phone that just works, day in and day out, then this one deserves a spot on your shortlist. There are rivals that beat it in one area or another, as is always the case in this segment. Overall though, the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max is easy to recommend to the right buyer.
