Phone Opinions Review

Apple has added another interesting option to its lineup with the all-new Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max, and on paper it looks like a device that wants to be your daily driver. Announced in 2019, September 10, it arrives at a time when the competition is as tight as ever.

Design & Display

The Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max comes with a 6.5 inches, 102.9 cm 2 (~83.7% screen-to-body ratio) display, pushing a resolution of 1242 x 2688 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~458 ppi density). Colours look punchy and text stays clean, so you will not have much to complain about here. The build feels well put together, and Apple has clearly paid attention to the in-hand feel. You can pick it up in a few finishes, including Matte Space Gray.

Performance & Software

Under the hood you will find the Apple A13 Bionic (7 nm+), paired with 4GB of RAM. That combination should handle day-to-day multitasking and most games without breaking a sweat. It runs iOS 13, upgradable to iOS 27 out of the box, so the software experience feels current.

Camera

Photography is handled by a main 12 MP shooter that should cover most situations, from daylight shots to the occasional low-light frame. Expect solid detail in good light, with the usual softness creeping in once the sun goes down.

Battery

Keeping the lights on is a Li-Ion 3969 mAh, non-removable (15.04 Wh) cell, and that is a healthy number that keeps range anxiety at bay.

Our Opinion

After spending time with the spec sheet and what Apple is promising, here is where we land. What you are getting is a device that quietly covers the fundamentals rather than shouting about them. It gets the basics right, offering a dependable main camera, a crisp display, which is exactly what most buyers are really after. In day-to-day use it feels like the kind of device you can rely on, whether you are replying to messages, scrolling through social media, watching videos or taking the odd photo. You could nitpick a few things, as you can with any phone in this bracket. Overall though, the Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max is easy to recommend to the right buyer.
