Gionee Pioneer P5L (2016) features a 5 inch screen with a HD display resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. CPU contains a Quad-core processor chipset with maximum clock speed of 1.3GHz. It coupled with a 1GB RAM and having inbuilt storage of 16GB. The storage can be expanded using micro SD card up to 128GB. In this configurations, we felt except RAM all are suitable for the present Android smartphone needs. In the 1GB of RAM given, most of them will be occupied the Android OS itself.
On the back side, the rear camera having an 8MP camera and the front side has a 5MP camera. The rear camera supported with flash light. Looking at the camera configuration and features, these are decent level cameras and definitely worth for a midrange smartphone.
The battery has capacity of 2300mAh. This is above average battery in capacity. We cannot expect battery backup over a day. But on normal usage, it can stand for a day before drain completely. This smartphone is running with Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. There is no News about this device getting Marshmallow update anytime soon.
Looking at the connectivity, there is 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, for Internet connectivity and Bluetooth to connect with other devices. There are no Fingerprint sensors and NFC. Dual SIM feature is available with both the slots for regular SIM.

The Price of Gionee Pioneer P5L (2016) is expected to be Rs.8,499/- (~$140) in the stores. Our opinion is the 1GB of RAM is not enough for quick operations in the day to day use. It may leads to many hanging screen, lagging while playing games and using apps. While the screen, processor, battery all looks enough for the functions of Android 5.1, the RAM capacity is too low to satisfy the needs of the buyers.
